As an agency of the Supreme Court of Illinois, the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission
(ARDC) is charged with promoting and protecting the integrity of the legal profession. The ARDC assists
the Supreme Court in regulating the legal profession through registering lawyers, conducting education
and outreach programs, investigating complaints of lawyer misconduct and complaints of unauthorized
practice of law, prosecuting lawyer disciplinary proceedings and unauthorized practice of law
proceedings, and advocating for remedial action on behalf of victims of lawyer misconduct.

Currently, the ARDC has vacancies for the following full-time attorney positions:
Litigation Counsel: Responsible for reviewing and investigating allegations of lawyer misconduct and
prosecuting formal disciplinary charges. Caseload is diverse and challenging and requires balancing the
rights of lawyers against the need to protect the public and the courts. Litigation experience preferred.
Intake Counsel: Responsible for initial screening and preliminary investigation of complaints of
professional misconduct. Duties may also include informal dispute resolution and acting as receiver of
law practices. Must be able to handle a high-volume caseload.
Litigation Group Manager: Responsible for providing leadership, guidance and day-to-day supervision
to attorneys, paralegals, and investigators, in addition to handling own investigative and litigation
caseloads. Required to assist group members in developing and implementing strategies for handling
individual investigations and prosecutions, as well as plans for efficiently managing caseloads. A
minimum of eight years of experience handling all aspects of litigation matters, from inception to trial,
required. Experience in lawyer professional responsibility and/or management preferred.
Intake Group Manager: Responsible for providing leadership, guidance and day-to-day supervision to
attorneys, paralegals, and investigators, in addition to handling own investigative caseload. Required to
assist group members in developing and implementing strategies for individual investigations, as well as
plans for efficiently managing investigative caseloads. A minimum of eight years of experience required,
preferably in the field of lawyer professional responsibility. Management experience preferred.
Director of Education: Responsible for developing, implementing and presenting programs and
materials to educate lawyers regarding their professional responsibilities, and to help lawyers serve clients
effectively within the bounds of the Rules of Professional Conduct. Will provide leadership and guidance
to designated team members and be responsible for oversight of professional development of ARDC staff.
A minimum of five years of experience required in public speaking and development of education
programs, preferably in the legal field. Management experience preferred.
