The State Board of Elections – General Counsel

The General Counsel for the State Board of Elections; plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates all functions and activities of the Division of General Counsel for the Board; confers with Division Directors regarding potential legal issues impacting their respective Divisions; assists the Executive Director in the development, establishment, and revision of Board policies, rules and regulations.

Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates all functions and activities of the Division of the General Counsel for the Board; establishes Division goals and objectives; working with the Attorney General’s office, monitors and evaluates all litigation where the Board is a party or where the Board’s interests are impacted by same.

Qualifications:

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college plus four years of administrative election law experience.  Requires possession of a license to practice law in Illinois.
