As part of our programming during Hispanic Heritage Month, HLAI’s Latina Lawyers Committee and Community Outreach Committee are proud to partner with Mujeres Latinas en Acción (Mujeres) to host a clothing drive from September through October 15. Mujeres, founded in 1973, is the longest-standing incorporated Latina organization in the nation. This bilingual and bicultural agency empowers Latinas by providing culturally relevant services and advocacy on issues that impact their lives. Through a wide range of programs, Mujeres promotes non-violence, reproductive health, and leadership development, while offering supportive services such as childcare, volunteer training, and general intake.
We invite you to support Mujeres’ mission by donating new or gently used clothing and the other items that they have requested. If you prefer to make a monetary contribution to help purchase needed items, donations may be sent via Venmo to Maria Elizabeth Calderon (@Maria-Calderon-16).
