Busy, energetic, boutique Chicagoland law firm is seeking a *BILINGUAL (Spanish/English)* Associate Attorney with 0-2 years of  experience, including qualified candidates who qualified candidates who passed the February 2023 and / or will take the July 2023 Illinois bar exam. Prior civil litigation experience and a desire to learn residential / commercial real estate preferred. This is a great opportunity to learn and gain great exposure to commercial real estate, residential real estate, and business law.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partnering with and advocating on behalf of clients
  • Handling a large volume of files in an enthusiastic, organized manner
  • Structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating sophisticated contracts
  • Reviewing and understanding intricate regulations and statutes
  • Managing demanding complex multi-faceted transactions

 

Qualifications & Competencies (required):

  • Law Degree (Juris Doctor – JD) with current or pending state bar admission in Illinois
  • Willingness to commute to ALO office on Southwest side of Chicago each weekday
  • Willingness and ability to travel to closing locations (typically within a 15-mile average radius of office)
  • Native-level fluency in both Spanish and English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent, professional communication skills facilitating the ability to establish strong rapport with clients
  • Exhibiting intellectual curiosity and self-sufficiency
  • Ability to think through complex legal issues in the context of business realities
  • Eagerness to learn and demonstrated dependability
  • Must be organized, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and self-assured

Qualifications (preferred, but not required):

  • Law review or legal clinic (focused on business law) experience
  • Prior experience with civil litigation is preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience in handling residential and/or commercial real estate matters including acquisitions, sales, leasing, condominiums/HOAs, development, and construction
