Eastern Illinois University is seeking an attorney to serve as the University’s in-house legal counsel and to advise all administrators, faculty, and staff, as necessary, on all matters having legal implications for the University.  This position reports to the President of the University, acts as their advisor in all matters of a legal nature, and represents the University’s interests.  The General Counsel also serves as the University’s Ethics Officer.

A Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school and the ability to receive an Illinois Bar licensure, is required.  Experience in higher education and/or labor relations preferred. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience with promoting inclusive excellence is required.
