The Illinois Commerce Commission’s Office of General Counsel is seeking a qualified candidate for the Technical Advisor III position in its Integrated Distribution Planning Division. This position will be located in Cook County in our Chicago office located at 160 North LaSalle. Chicago, IL 60601.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under direction, performs technical and legal functions involving responsibility for representing staff of the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) before Administrative Law Judges, providing advice to the ICC when the ICC files comments in matters pending before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) or the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC); for representing the ICC before Federal and State Courts on appeals resulting from ICC action or for representing the ICC on original actions brought against the ICC in Federal or State courts.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Requires a law degree and a license to practice law in the State of Illinois and two years of legal experience as an attorney, preferably with two years of prosecutorial experience. Prefer experience in regulatory or utility litigation. Requires extensive knowledge of the personal computer and its related software programs and applications; and superior oral and written English communication skills.
The Technical Advisor III title is represented by AFSCME council 31 and is a RC10, Grade 23 position with the salary range of $6,294 to $9,558 per month. Entry salary will be determined based on qualifications. Work hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
