The Social Security Administration’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is hiring experienced Labor & Employment Attorneys throughout the U.S. for its Office of General Law (OGL).

WHY OGL: OGL attorneys provide legal guidance on a wide variety of employment related issues including all federal workplace mandates, EEO legal issues, labor law, employee performance management, and employee misconduct. OGL attorneys regularly represent the agency before multiple tribunals including arbitrators, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Merit Systems Protection Board, and the Federal Labor Relations Authority, as well as coordinate with the Department of Justice in representing SSA in federal district and appellate courts. We seek candidates with strong legal acumen in employment/labor law, litigation experience, research and writing skills, proficiency with eDiscovery, and the ability to quickly form positive relationships with internal clients and partners.
Attorneys joining OGL as an experienced attorney should have at least two years of employment law or labor law experience and ideally will have experience in all phases of litigation. OGL experienced attorneys will have significant responsibility in their workloads, but will receive support, mentorship, and training within OGL’s collegial culture.

SALARY INFORMATION: Base Salary: $82,830 – $128,043 (depending on grade and step) PLUS locality pay based on geographic area. Please refer to General Schedule for more information.
