Professional Biography | Nick Lira-Lisle is a second-year, first-generation law student at Chicago-Kent College of Law, emphasizing in the area of labor and employment law. Nick attended Northern Illinois University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts, with a double-major in Public Administration and Nonprofit Studies. Nick’s passion for local government led him to pursue his undergraduate degree in public administration and later work for the City of Saint Charles Human Resources Department. His passion sparked in high school when he learned about the impact of local government while serving as a youth commissioner for his hometown. While Nick simultaneously worked for Saint Charles and studied public administration, he developed an affinity for professional local government management, and his experience in HR led him to appreciate the importance of labor and employment law and its vital role in sound professional management. Today, while he is now pursuing to work in a legal capacity, Nick is still loyal to his roots and aims to help municipal employers navigate through their labor and employment law matters. Nick’s involvement includes membership in the Illinois City/County Management Association and Illinois Association of Municipal Management Assistants, and he serves as the Next Generation Committee Co-Chairperson for Outreach. Nick is active in his school’s Hispanic-Latino Law Student Association and Labor and Employment Law Society; he is the Philanthropy Chair of the Student Humanitarian Network; and, Nick is on the Steering Committee for the Disability Advocacy Law Student Association. |
